FK Fred AyifliFred is a Ph.D. Researcher at the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Wageningen & Research (UWR) in the Netherlands. Fred also attained a Master of Science degree in Development Studies from UWR and an MPhil in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Ghana (Legon). He also attained several professional certificates, which include the Certificates in Forced Migration Studies from the Department of International Development at the University of Oxford in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom and a Certificate of Action & Strategic Planning with Conflict Management from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).

He is the Country Director of RESPECT Ghana an associate organization of RESPECT International. He also serves on the International Technical Advisory Team of RESPECT International.

Fred is an expert in development sociology, environmental management, law, public administration, research strategy, environmental sociology, energy, entrepreneurship, civil society, food security, development studies, human rights, participation, governance, sustainability, action research, and policy.

MacedoMacedo holds a Master of Arts degree in International Development and Social Change and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy both from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts in the United States. He also holds Dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Sociology and Geography with a Concentration in Environmental Studies from Worcester State University. He became part of RESPECT International in 2001 and served as the Project Manager for RESPECT Ghana from 2001 to 2006. He currently serves as the International Director at INDESEEM, an emerging nonprofit research and development organization base in the United States with developing interests and operations in Liberia, Ghana, and Lao PDR. He provided the logistical support and assistance to the establishment of RESPECT Liberia as a non-governmental organization in 2010.

Macedo currently works as the Marketing Data Scientist at Road Scholar, a not-for-profit organization that is the world’s largest and most innovative creator of experiential learning opportunities through adventurous travels.

He is an expert in international development, forced migration, food and human security, renewable energy systems, climate-smart agriculture and water systems, project management, applied research methods, monitoring & evaluation, climate and global environmental change, environmental ethics, law, and policy, sustainability modeling, and data science. He has conducted several field research projects in the United States, Ghana, Lao PDR, and Indonesia. He has written and contributed to several academic and scholastic publications.
